Who will tell the story of your life?

When writing the story of your life

In a previous post, I listed eight great reasons for telling the story of your life. The second reason on the list is –

Tell your story to tell your side of it.

In other words, when writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen.

You see, the thing is this. If you don’t tell your story, someone else will. If not before, then certainly after you’ve gone.

Have you ever had the experience of sitting at someone’s funeral, listening to the eulogies and discovering things about this person you never knew. Suddenly everyone has a story to tell about the dearly departed. And it’s their version!

If you would like to tell your version of your story, then you need to do it while you can. Tell your story the way you have lived it. Only you can know the things you have done and the reasons why you did them.

Tell your story and find someone to help you write it so that you can pass it on. That way, you keep your story alive and people will get to read YOUR story the way you want it told.
